  • VRay RT Technology

So, I'm browsing the web today and I come across this:

    http://trinity3d.com/tv/channels/vra...preview2.shtml

    and

    http://trinity3d.com/tv/channels/vra...preview1.shtml

    OMG, Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

Any chance this would be adopted in Vray for Rhino as well? This would REALLY speed up workflow.

    Thanks,
    Hoop

    Re: VRay RT Technology

yea, micha posted links to those videos (better quality) a little while ago on the Rhino NG...Check out the thread for my response (sorry I'm lazy and don't feel like typing).

BTW It probably won't speed up workflow that much per-say. The Real time engine is meant for interactive feedback, not presentable rendering quality. So in terms of delivering an image to a client, the RT engine is probably not going to be what your going to use. But if your giving a presentation it can be purdy darn cool.

The short answer is...we'll see ??

Thanks for the feedback. Well, I hope that Chaos Group gives you guys access to the technology, that would be great.

We do TONS of live presentations for our clients and utilize "Go To My PC" a lot for those out of town to make color and material decisions. The clients always like to be involved in this to be a part of the design process. I constantly use Rhino's Open GL rendered viewport during these presentations, so this real time technology would be great. After final renderings are presented we have a lot of clients ask us why we can't make the live previews look as good!
