Sheer Curtains

I've searched the board and found a couple of things (kind of old) about curtain effects not being able to be reached yet. So I'm a little hesitant to bring this old topic back but if anyone can help how to create a material like this one...Thanks guys.

I would try a 2sided material for transporting the light from one side to the other without SSS. The submaterial for back and front could be the same and use a curtain texture and some transparency.

2 sided material, yes, but my vote goes for having different materials on each side. How different depends on what you're looking for, but having different materials on each side will really allow the folds of the curtain to get some more character. If their both the same, then it doesn't really pop as much.

hey guys thanks for the advice. I'm working on something for those sheer curtains and i'll post it whenever i get it done.

Can you guys explain something to me?

What exactly causes those black pixels around the sunlight? I've been working all day on this rendering and never really changed the settings and then all of a sudden this happens. I can easily photoshop it out but I was just curious if you all knew why this happens. Thanks

I used a material for the diffuse colour and added transparency colour of 50,50,50. I also added a grid to the transparency map to get effect below...
