  • vrimg2exr converter for Rhino

I followed the steps in the Forum post "Large Resolution Renderings" but I wasn't able to download the vrimg2exr file. It told me I was not authorized when I was logged in. Does anyone have this file so I can install the plug-in and render at high resolutions?

    Re: vrimg2exr converter for Rhino

When you are logged into the ASGVIS website go to "Home" then go to "My files" which is located on the left hand column. In there you will see "Vray Tools & Scripts". The vrimg2exr file is located there. Download it and extract it somewhere that you remember.

The vrimg2exr file is note a plugin. Once you have rendered your Raw Image (vrimg) then located it, right click and select "Open with". Browse for thr vrimg2exr.exe file and then click okay. It should then start converting the raw image file into a png file which you can then edit with most photoshop style programs.

Alternatively you can drag the raw image file onto the vrimg.exe file and it will also convert it.

    Hope this helps.

        Re: vrimg2exr converter for Rhino

I'm not able to find "my files" in this new, sleeker and less useful version of the ASGVIS website. Can I get a pointer from someone who has found the link?

Here's the direct link to the download. The website is getting changed and hopefully the "less useful" part is fixed.

at the moment, the converter tool is not available for download. It doesn't work with the latest version of our plugin anyway. Alternatively, you can render directly to a .exr image rather than a .vrimage, which then has to be converted using that tool.

                -edit-

I'm sorry, I was referring to the latest version of VfS and the beta of VfR (which is not public yet). I forget that the 1.05 version of VfR doesn't support this yet. I will give someone a tap on the shoulder again about this converter tool. Unfortunately I myself am not able to do anything about it, but hopefully someone here can.

                      Hello all-

You can now find the vrimage2exe tool at http://spot3d.com/vray/misc/tools/. You will see that we have posted other V-Ray for Rhino tools from the old ASGVIS site on that same page.

                      Best regards,
