  • Problems with png images

    i'm trying to add some png images on my scene but it doesn't render it, and the jpeg images are rendered but with a white background, like a frame or something like that, need help, as soon as posible!!!

    The alpha channel from the png images will not be taken into account when rendered. You will need to separate out the alpha channel (in photoshop or something) and manually put that map in the Transparency slot.

      Hi!
      I just read in the VRay SU manual that you have to have another Diffuse parameter to apply the transparency (Diffuse 1). So, does that mean that the original Diffuse is the texture and Diffuse 1 is the transparency?
      Also, can your diffuse texture be in png format and your transparency map in jpeg or the other way around? Or if diffuse is in png then transparency be in png?
      Please enlighten.

        yes you need another texture to set transparency. It does not matter what format its in bc it will only read the color values of the image

          Will that change in the future? Since the alpha info is there is seem like unnecessary work.
          Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

            It may change, but its uncertain at the moment. If it does it won't be automatic as it currently is in SU...you'll have to set it (via a check box or something) to use the alpha from an image.
