  • how to simulate opengl setup

rhino default opengl setup in vewport has good quality
is there a way to simulate this with a material in vray

Re: how to simulate opengl setup

I'm not quite sure I know what you're talking about. Are you asking if there's a type of realtime V-Ray render mode, sort of like how the Rhino viewport works? Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have that feature integrated in to V-Ray for Rhino or V-Ray for SketchUp. There is a close to realtime V-Ray engine out there, but it hasn't been integrated in to our products yet.

If you need OpenGL, why not use it? Best use this buttons scripts

      http://news2.mcneel.com/scripts/dnew...m=288421&utag=

This scripts allow to get high quality and high res screenshots.

Re: how to simulate opengl setup

I am not talking about taking screenshot or realtime rendering shader in viewport
I am talking about simulating the opengl viewport shading of rhino via a shader in vray virtual frame buffer while rendering

Do you have any sort of examples from other applications? I still don't understand what you're talking about. A visual aid of some sort might help.

a vray shader and scene setup after render looks like the default rhino shaded viewport

Why do you don't like to use the Rhino viewport?

I think, you could get the OpenGL look, if you use only point lights with disabled shadow and no decay for lighting. You must find the location of the Rhino lights and use it. Maybe directional lights are better than pointlights.

well I can use viewport or any other post processing technique in photoshop
but I only asked if that is possible it is faster than post processing in my opinion also you can render other objects with different materials and one this object with opengl shading
                thanks for the reply
