  • Lighting flare / effect

    Hey all,

Does anyone know how to achieve a lighting effect such as the one shown below using VFR ??? Is this something that can be done? I know that it can be done in Max but I haven't found any documentation on how this could be achieved in rhino.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Lighting flare / effect

That seams like something thats from an IES light. Running the visIESLight command will allow you to add one. You'll probably need a very specific profile though to achieve that affect. The link below is for an IES Light generator. Going back and forth between manipulating the light and checking the rendered result should allow you to get pretty close.

I will give it a shot. I will post up my findings.

Is this something that could possible be done using caustics?

It took me a little while to figure out but I finally got there. Thanks for the link to the IES generator. I'll post up my next rendering in a few weeks with hopefully a closer representation of the lights in the image I previously posted.
