  • Need to add lights to track lighting bulbs - any advice?

I am working on an interior that is lit with nothing more than strips of track lighting and I am preparing to give each individual bulb light, only I am only familiar with rectangular lighting elements in Sketchup and have no clue what i am doing with omni-lighting.

I placed an omni-lite and it was enormous - so i guess what I am asking is, what's the common practice? Do I insert omni-lights on each and scale them down and bring down their multiplier as well?

I just need a rounded light effect.

Anyone willing to lend a hand?

Scaling down there visual model size will not decrease their modifier the light is being emitted from a single point. Thats just a visual representation that your seeing as huge. It will not give you a physical object in the render. It is suggested you model a light bulb and place an omni inside it or have a multiplier high enough that you can not tell the origin point.

If your light sockets are a component then you can place an omni light on one of them (it will be on base layer not in the component) scale it down to a size that is manageable for you, set up the multiplier and all other settings you want. Then cut it. Enter the component and EDIT>Paste In Place. If your light sockets are all components then all of them will now feature a light.
