  • 3 in 1 question; whiskey, alfa & color mapping...

    Hi

    I´ve ackumulated some questions:

    1. Anyone that hav a good single malt material to share? shold bee seen throuh a botle & glas

    2. Is it possible for having more then one alfa channel to be saved in the Frame buffer??? (like in the same scene; a tree, a car & ground = 3 channels) I alwas save as .TGA as the alfa is baked and can be used direct in PSD...

    3. What exactly does; "Clamp output" and "subpixel"????? Can find anything to read about that in the manual...

    2. Nope, not at this point. We are adding additional render channels, so you'll have a material ID channel or object ID channel which will help with that.

    3. Clamp Output will limit all of the color values to the visible range of colors (between 0 and 1 in float or 0 and 255 in 8-bit). Subpixel will look at the individual samples from a given pixel to perform the tone mapping operations as opposed to the pixel as a whole (after the samples have been compiled). This is good to use in conjunction with Clamp Output as it will prevent samples being taken that will just be thrown away.

... both without antialiasing, with hard jagged edges ... but this is default Vray engine - only wirecolor channel would help. :-\
