thanks, im actually having problems to set the network working properly, do you have any advice ( a web-link can help )?, i have a cable modem conected to an 8 port switch, where 2 machines are conected.
Sorry, I'm not a web/network guy at all, so I really won't be able to help you too much. The best I can say is do a quick Google search and see what comes up. Micha's set up his own network, so maybe he can give a few pointers.
Sorry, I don't know so much about networks - I use XP64 at all machines and used infos found per google for the setup. I'm happy that it works and I hope, it will work without problems in the future.
If I remember me right, all computers must be in the same WORKGROUP. Also I manualy set the IP per machine. Best shut down the firewall for the first tests.
If you don't know much about networking you are better off getting a professional in to do it for you. I had it working before but it was no good to me because the 32bit machine was less powerful so it always crashed when the model got too big. It shouldn't be a huge problem if you are running the same operating system. One way to test them is if you connect them directly rather then through a port.
