  • rendering transparency with png files

does anyone know what i am doing wrong?
i have loaded a png file as the image for this 2d tree and it seems the transparency is not fully resolving itself. It makes only a part of the png file transparent. I inputed the image into the difuse\color and transparency boxes.
any help would be greatly appreciated
    thanks[img][/img]

Re: rendering transparency with png files

You have to extract the alpha channel of the PNG file. You can do that in Photoshop or similar application. You then have a black and white image which you use in the transparency slot of the diffuse layer.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Sorry, my explanation wasn't good. that is exactly what i did and it gives me the tree as a partially transparent image.
