Looks very promising, but the noise makes it hard to judge well. First thing would be to reduse noise. You say you used default settings, but with what version?

You could increase the QMC/DMC subdivs. Or you could try with Irradiance Map + Lightcache, that will usually give a smooth result very quickly.

Looking much better! Details are much clearer now. The lighting is good. I think you lack some reflection here and there. in particular the floor. Not necessary a shiny clear reflection, but just a little bit glossy blurry reflection.
And you'd also benefit from saving with less JPEG compression. The compression artifacts in the images is quite distinct and makes everything a bit blurry.
