Some Objects Not Rendering?

This problem has happened to me a couple of times now. When I try to render sometimes, the objects that are present on my SketchUp scene with applied materials and everything turn out to be missing when I render. I have to remodel the objects sometimes to get them to show up in the rendering. Its a waste of time. Anyone know of any solutions?

This was a more significant problem in the original release. This is mainly due to sketchup not communicating changes to groups or components. Since we weren't updated with changes, things fell through the cracks when it came to grabbing the object from the scene to render. The easiest way to do this is to explode the group/component and remake it. That usually registers the change and V-Ray follows along.

This has been cleaned up in the service releases, although it has been reported a few times. If you're still using the original release, I'd recommend updating to the new version. If you're still seeing this in the new version, then please send us the scene so we can try and track this down.

Yes, it's still around in the new version as well. But it appear to only be right after a change to a group or component. If you close the file, (open a different, or create a new), then reload the file you where working on the objects will render.

This problem happens daily, I do have to just shut down and reopen. It is quite depressing to wait 20 minutes for vray to process and another 10 to 15 to render just to find out your missing half of your geometry, i'll put it on the wishlist.

To work around that I create components instead of groups. I can easily clutter up my component list, but I prefer that over having to close the file and reopen all the time.

Again, if this is something that you run into a lot, please send us the scene so that we can take a look at it. If you have some steps that seam to lead to disappearing components, then please try and include those as well with as much detail as possible.
