  • PROBLEMS WITH GRAPHIC CARD ATI FireGL

Hi guys, i'm really preocupated with my new graphic card ati FireGL V5600.
When i work in skecthup i have a problems with selectionfaces, the program don't select the face that i want. This occur with the tag checked "accelaration hardard card".
If i uncheck this option the card work, but after unchecked this tag my card seems a turtle, i really disappointed with this, my card costs 3 times more than my aolder one and it's more slow

    Anyone can help me?
It's a problem of skecthup? or it's a problem of ati driver??
    Anyone with a similar case?

    thank's

Re: PROBLEMS WITH GRAPHIC CARD ATI FireGL

It's a known problem with SketchUp and ATI cards. Update your graphics card drivers. That should fix it I believe.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Re: PROBLEMS WITH GRAPHIC CARD ATI FireGL

Are you 100% up to date with versions of SketchUp, V-Ray, windows, and any other drivers you may need (mouse or tablet). I believe the last version of SU6 was 6.4.112 and the most recent version of V-Ray is 1.05.30

Have you tried "Window>Preferences>OpenGL>Correct reversed picking driver"?

          Or unticking Fast Feedback?

there's a few posts on Sketchucation about not being able to select. http://www.google.no/search?hl=no&cl...S%C3%B8k&meta=

Re: PROBLEMS WITH GRAPHIC CARD ATI FireGL

first of all, thank's a lot for the information.

Today i can find the solution without uncheck the card acceleration! i'm very happy, i just recharge the drivers downloaded from the ati web, and it works perfect with the anti-aliasing descativated.

If someone want to know something else just ask me i'm very pleasant to try to help you.

            Thank's a lot

Re: PROBLEMS WITH GRAPHIC CARD ATI FireGL

Leduen, nice to know everything's running smoothly.
I used to be an ati fan, now due to the known compatibily issue with Ati cards and sketchup I'm settled with nvidia ones...
I'm interested in knowing how you resolved the matter.
              Thanks

1.49.02 is not a version that was ever publicly released, and may contain a number of unknown issues. I'm not sure where you got this version from... but I would suggest running any anti-virus software you may have. I also would strongly suggest sticking to the publicly released versions in the future. 2.0 has been released, and has a number of improvements which may resolve your issues as well. The issue you are describing should not be related to your graphics card at all, so if the issue persists when using version 1.49.01, or version 2.0, please make a new thread about this issue, since it's not related to this thread topic. It's also probably a good idea to contact support@chaosgroup.com about this issue if it persists, and send us an example scene file, as I have not heard of this issue before.
                  Best regards,
