  • Bad metal reflection

I'm trying to render a cup trophy: it's a plastic semisphere on a metal stalk.

I have read the studio light setup tutorial and hdri also but the effect is always matte/flat
I have tryed with official vismat material and changed the color of background but is always flat

    I need this effect:

With metals, poor results are almost never attributed to the material itself, but more an issue with what is being reflected. Right now, all your reflecting is your groundplane/backdrop. This is partially because that's the shape of your object and also because you're looking slightly down on it. I would suggest trying out some studio hdris and possibly having a smaller ground plane (ie just enough to fill up the view) so that you can see the hdris
