  • Exterior POV window reflection and transparency (help)

Hello Masters....i would like to ask any advise regarding how to achieve realistic window glasses. Ive applied most of the settings provided in the vfsu manual but was not successful. Ive attached my unfinished image to show you the situation.

    Thank you in advance.

PS. comments and critics will be acknowledge too...

Are you suppose to look inside? If so, have you applied glass material to both sides of faces that makes up the glass?

If you're not suppose to be looking in, Then I'd set a dark diffuse colour, I often pick a very dark blue and add a reflection layer.

      YES....

The output that id like to achieve is to have a little tinted of which I followed the vfsu manual settings, i put refraction instead of reflection layer but nothing happened. the glass thickness is 25mm thk.

One more thing thom, i adjusted the transparency of the glass in SU Material, do you think it is necessary to apply that? or i should done it in vray material settings?

        Thank you...

If you are suppose to see through, then the glass material should be 100% transparent. Then you add a reflection layer.
I wouldn't bother with a refraction layer for window glass like this.
But make sure that front and backface has the glass material applied.

Note that the default reflection layer V-Ray adds is a Fresnel type, meaning that the reflection you see will depend on the angle of the surface to the camera, like it is in real life. So if you don't see any reflection it might be that you're looking at it from an angle where you don't get reflection.
