  • Realtime rendering in Vray... it's VrayRT

    Hi All,
I saw the official news from ChaosGroup so I'm asking you if there's any good news also for us.

Damien, Corey did you would let us know about the future of VrayforRhino?

Wolud be possible to have the same in Rhino?

    Thanks

PS: how about the V2.0... Maxwell runs lot faster and Hypershot/Photoworks grows every day.

Corey is really the one who would be able to fill in the details. Of course I think this is one of the greatest things since sliced bread, so I would like nothing more than having it available for Rhino and SU.

For me are fixed bugs and daily missed features are more important. At the end nobody will see it was rendered per RT feature or not, but sadly bugs and missing features are quite good visible.

For concept development our studio uses quick Hypershot/Photoshop rendering techniques. For more polished or photoreal images we use Vray. It would be great if we could use one rendering package for all our visualization.

So... Is real time rendering going to be an option with Vray for Rhino?

          What do you think Corey?

          Thanks,

          Brian

It will be an option within VfR (probably as an added module that requires an VfR license) but the timeframe on when this will be available is largely unknown.

Unless there's something platform specific that's required or offered within that platform (ie Autolinked materials in SU or the RDK in Rhino), then we try an make the feature set of V-Ray for Sketch and V-Ray for Rhino the same across the board.
