Hi, maybe I'm not the right person to solve your question, but did you already try something like the emissive materials??? Could be a good solve for this work!!

Hi Thomas,

Ok, this is quick test, so I'm sure with some playing around with lighting, etc, you could get a better result than this but basically this was achieved by:

1) create a flat plane and assign it a glass material
2) create your text and or artwork and assign it a frosted glass material.
3) place the text/artwork inside of the glass
4) create your tubes or whatever will hold the glass, making sure that where the glass intersects the tubes/object that the material is cut away, as it would be in reality.
5) place rectangular lights inside of the tubes, turn up the intensity pretty high.

That's pretty much it. Like I said, this was pretty quick so you can achieve a better result by playing around with the values, light intensity, camera, etc.
