  • two point perspective

    Hello
    dose anyone know how can i render a two point perspective that looks like the view port in sketch up?
    im using sketch up 6 + vray
    i know that in vray for 3dmax there is a Vertical shift (Camera Correction)
    or a vertical shift: Guess option

    Use "Standard Camera" or set a 200mm focal length in Physical Camera. The latter method isn't 100% accurate (it's only simulating an extreme telezoom perspective), but it's good enough for elevations and plans. Either way you'll have to adjust GI multilpiers a LOT compared to a regular 28-50mm Physical Camera.

      Is that supposed to give us a 2-point perspective or a ortographic perspective???

      a two point perspetive is supposed to maintain depth perspective like a normal camera, but there wont be perspective in the vertical... its usually used for rendering multi-story highrises.

        notice that the top looks bigger than the bottom. Its actually an optical illusion caused by 2 Points Perspective. Our brain expects the vertical perspective. Since it doesnt exists, it "tries" to assume to top is bigger. But if you measure it, the measures at the top are exactly like in the bottom, and vertical lines are ALL parallel.

          What I do is activate the "Two-Point Perspective" at the Sketchup Camera option. Although, it seems that the aligment of V-Ray's camera doesn't always recognizes the Sketchup's Two-Point Perspective Camera, so, it is based upon luck, I guess..

            if you use a physical camera, mess with the vertical shift option in that pull down menu. I would start with a value of about .2 and adjust accordingly. Hope this helps
