  • Difficult Indirect Interior

Hi, I need some advice on the render settings for this scene, I'm using Vray for Skethup and using SU default sun light as main light source(no override environmental light) and with light emit material for the wall lamp. I set some material withe less glossiness like 0.6. the render setting is 5 pass IM and 16 DMC, but it still end up with a lot of noise and blurry. is there anything settings I need to check? I also tried DMC+LC but still not much improve.

On of the big issue here is the emissive material. It is to bright and a very high intensity on small object produce spotchiness like that. Also for interior you should use IM and Light Cache. Your noise threshold is to high, that value kill your render time. Reduce the noise threshold to .008 or .005 lower value do not produce any significant improvement and increase your render time.

Thank you so much, after setting the render engine to Irradiance map + Light Cache, and lowe the emissive intensity and noise threshold, the quality is much better and saves a lot of render time. I'm just wondering how to determine using what kind of render method? interior for IM+LC, and exterior for?

Basically I use IM - LC for interior and semi-open exterior. If I don't need to much secondary bounce o illuminate my exterior, I use IM - DMC. For product design I use IM - DMC.
