  • HELP: annoying white spots on my renderings

    Hello all,

I have been having trouble finding a solution to the annoying occurrence of little white spots appearing on my rendering. I have looked through tutorials and manuals on rendering, but can't seem to find a reference to this event. I am using Deterministic Monte Carlo GI and Light Cache as my primary and secondary rendering engine, respectively. Any help you could provide is solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gord

Could be caused by the bad behavior of the physical sky sun. I wished the sun reflections could based on highlight and not reflection calculation:

Some time you can fix that by enable the clamp output ans the sub-pixel option under Color mapping rollout

I forget to say: to avoid the sampling problems of the sun interreflections I avoid to use the sun and use a directional light.

GGRAF, did you solve this problem? I've seen it recently also and didn't know what caused it or how to fix.
