Hi! I'm having a problem regarding the frame buffer. whenever i render, before it'll be finish or in the middle of the rendering process, some black regions started to show and block the whole scene then the frame buffer hangs. I can't figure out what seems to be the problem. Pls. ASGVIS help me regrading this issue. It'll be a help too for those who will experience the same issue. Thanks a lot ASGVIS! I'll wait for your response! ;D

Re: rendering turned out black
you didn't answer my question:
is this happening with DR renders, renders using only 1 workstation, or both?
I have heard of issues similar to this when using DR, as well as issues that can occur without it. They are entirely different issues though, which is why I asked if you were using DR or not. It would also be helpful if you could post a copy of your error log. Please READ this post about the error log:
http://forum.asgvis.com/index.php?topic=7503.0
Also, it would be good to know more about your computer's setup. Filling out the information in this post will help us track down the issue:
http://forum.asgvis.com/index.php?topic=8391.0
More questions:
-Does this happen with all renders?
-What happens if you make a new scene that has nothing in it but a box and try to render it?
-When did this problem first start happening?
-Did it happen in a previous version of our product as well?
Sorry to ask so many questions, but the description of the issue that you gave, sounds like a very general issue, which could be caused by a number of bugs or incorrect settings.Best regards,

Re: rendering turned out black
Thanks sir. i've experience this issue not by using DR, this occurs when I render a simple scene. then another error is that, whenever I put trees then click render, after a while it won't render.
ASGvis product used: Vray for Sketchup
ASGvis product version number:1.48.83
ASGvis product license type(demo, academic, commercial):commercial
OS(windows or mac):windows
OS version:windows 7 x64 bit
OS language:English
OS locale:
Host application (rhino, sketchup):sketchup
Host application version:7.1
Host application language:English
Other plugins installed:Remove CG materials, SU animate, Sync Camera, Fur maker
CPU type:Core2 Quad
RAM:4 GB
More questions:
-Does this happen with all renders?
Most of the time, when I start to put trees and car.
-What happens if you make a new scene that has nothing in it but a box and try to render it?
Rendering a new scene with only a box doesn't create an error
-When did this problem first start happening?
3 weeks ago, I'm only rendering a simple scene, unlike before, I can render a large scene.
-Did it happen in a previous version of our product as well?
No, it only happened on the current version I'm using which is 1.48.83
Thank you so much sir! I hope we can solve this issue. ;D

Re: rendering turned out black
I would suggest trying 1.48.89, which was released a couple weeks ago. We didn't send out a big announcement about it, just a post in the forums. When we announced 1.48.83, people got the wrong impression, and thought that .83 was supposed to fix all of the bugs that were in .66. We are still working on resolving as many issues as possible, and we are rolling out new versions whenever our beta testers give us a thumbs up. You can download the latest version here:
http://software.asgvis.com/index.php...182&Itemid=480
Here's what has changed since 1.48.83:
----------
1.48.89
----------
Fixes:
- Fixed invalid output image path issue that would cause a blank render
- Fixed issue that caused our gamma settings to be ignored in the material/texture preview renders
Changes:
- Made sure that our memory map was getting closed regardless of situation
______________________________________________
----------
1.48.88
----------
Fixes:
- Switched over to use memory-mapped files when parsing scenes. This should make it so some of the larger scenes that previously failed to render will now work
- Glossy reflections and bump map now work together properly
- Default lights can be enabled with other lights in scene now.
- Sketchup embedded textures show in previews now
- Material picker handler doesn't pick mats if you hit cancel now.
- Fixed problem with sphere plugin that caused material previews to not show displacement properly
Changes:
- When maps are set, the button changes color to make it more obvious
______________________________________________
----------
1.48.87
----------
Fixes:
- Fixed a logic error in some of the render plugin parameters that caused a memory leak
- Fixed an issue that caused the Light Cache layout to not show properly if it was both primary and secondary engine
- Fixed problem that caused importing materials to fail if the new material has a differet name than the material you were importing into
Changes:
- Added "Cast shadows" option to default material. This specifies whether or not the material will cast shadows
- Added "Only visible in secondary" option to default material. This makes it possible to have a material only show up in reflections or refractions
- Added "ID Color" to default material. This color allows you to set what color will show up in the Material ID VFB render channel
- Modified the way the "Options" panel in our default material UI looks to accomodate new options
______________________________________________
----------
1.48.86
----------
Fixes:
- Fixed issue that made license utility not get launched on Leopard and Tiger OSX
- Fixed problem that could occur when all layers were removed and adding new layers would be disconnected from the material
- Made a slight modification to the Toon material that should make it so it doesn't get slower when the line width is bigger
______________________________________________
----------
1.48.85
----------
Fixes:
- Fixed a problem that made it so VfS couldn't be loaded on Leopard or Tiger OSX
- Fixed issues related to the changing of installation paths for side-by-side VfS and VfR installations
- Fixed issue that could arise if you used Google's component warehouse and grabbed two components with the same name
- Fixed some issues that caused importing images to not work
- Fixed problems related to two side materials being loaded / saved into our scenes
- Fixed some issues related to our file-searching algorithm
- Fixed it so the aspect ratio lock button will be set correctly when loading scenes
- Fixed issue in DRSpawner that could cause it to render black
- Fixed a problem that made it so the UI necessary to save Photon Maps was hidden
- The file extensions for the gi maps should be filled in correctly when you go to save them out

Re: rendering turned out black
it's a free upgrade and the license file will work in both versions, so no action should be required on your part. Just install the new version and you shouldn't have to do anything with licensing at all, it should just work. Hooray!Best regards,
