  • Displacement problem - Help!

Im still a new kid in the playground and I need help....

it might be something very simple and yeah just cut me some slack if it's so.

look at this image....I have the same material on the gray for the house and the gray on the displaced geometry. I don't know why the house faces are not being displaced.

    Re: Displacement problem - Help!

Try adding another diffuse layer to that material. Set the transparency to a TexAColor, with a white value, and set the diffuse color texture to a bitmap (it doesn't matter what bitmap, because it won't show up in the render). This will display the texture in Sketchup, and then Sketchup will generate UV information, which we need in order to place textures for that material properly.

      Re: Displacement problem - Help!

I had learned to do that some months ago when I had a similar issue and what your saying worked but not on this problem...the issue I have is with the grouping of the geometry I wanted displaced.

So after fixing that issue and grouping the geometry correctly and getting my displacement I get into a different issue.....

      Error Loading File C:\ProgramData/ASGVIS/VfS/Ruby/R2P.rb
      #<RuntimeError: Illegal character '&' in raw string "\\AVEBGRAPHICS\Public\Projects & Developments\Current Developments\Bahamas\Señor Frogs\Cactus Bar\WoodRough0072_1_M - Copy.jpg">

That's the message I get when I start up SK and I cant render...it tells me to check the log. obviously its a corrupted image, the woodrough, so I deleted the image and restarted and it fixed the issue.

im posting my experience so other people who have similar issues can find a solution.

      Thank you!
