  • Furniture rendering

    I have been trying Vray with Sketchup for 2 weeks for some furniture rendering. Results are nowhere near for what I'd like to be. So here are some questions:
    How do get wood texture sharp and clear on picture?
    Should I use only GI or interior lighting with mulitple lights to get more realistic result(I will cut out furniture item later with PS)?
    What are settings that would affect quality of wood textures most?
    Can anybody suggest some tutorial for furniture rendering?
    Here is sample of my result pic

    Firstly use god quality high res images..... http://www.defcon-x.de/c4d/textures
    Recent builds have removed this but you may need to check the following;
    Click on the M in the diffuse layer - Make sure that the FILTER BLUR is set to 0.0.

    Each to their own here... although i guess the majority would say that because your planning on cutting out the background in PS is to have a little studio setup with a few lights and a hdr background to give the reflections some 'life'

    What are settings that would affect quality of wood textures most?
    Good quality diffuse - Good (not over cooked) Reflection - Bump where applicable

    Not me..

    Kind Regards
