  • VRAY STILL NOT RENDERING SU MODELS THAT CONTAIN IMAGES.

    Hey there....

My Vray still wont render Sketchup models that contain any image of any file format. I upgraded to version 1.48.89 but still nothing - VRAY just ignores the command to render. Also when I try to extract the error log my computer does not recognize the path, which I tried numerous times, (C:ProgramDataASGVISVfSvfs_stderr.txt) supplied by ASGVIS Support. This is really hampering my performance an productivity. My contract with the company I'm working for expires soon and I have to purchase my own rendering software and I've decided on Vray but if this problem persists I'll have to look somewhere else...

    My system info follows:-

    ASGvis product used: VRAY
ASGvis product version number: Ver. 1.48.89
ASGvis product license type(demo, academic, commercial): Commercial
    OS(windows or mac): Windows Vista
    OS version:
    OS language: ENG US
    OS locale:
    Host application (rhino, sketchup): Sketchup
    Host application version: Ver. 7
    Host application language: Eng
    Other plugins installed:
CPU type: Intel Pentium Duo Core 1.86 GHz
    RAM: 2 Gig

It has happened the same to me too.
Just copy the entire model of that open sketch up file which vray does not render then open a new file and past in place in that new file.
vray will recognize all the materials. Then it should render.
That how I Solved my problem.
    Hope it helps you.

Re: VRAY STILL NOT RENDERING SU MODELS THAT CONTAIN IMAGES.

our latest beta works with imported images (at least that's what our testers have told us) If you would like to try it out, you can sign up here: http://forum.asgvis.com/index.php?topic=7679.0

Otherwise, I recommend making a material that uses the image you want to have in your scene, as a texture, and then applying the material to a plane. It's not the most graceful work around, but it should do the job until we release a public version that works better with imported images.

Alternately - you could look at Thomthom's plugin on sketchucation that explodes all images in sketchup. It's worked well for me before.
