    Hi guys.

I'm attempting to render out a proposal for my kitchen renovation. Its still WIP as you can tell however I'm trying to get a low sheen over the grey wall to the right. as you can see by the images below, im getting a bit of noise in the reflection (as well as other places) any advice would be appreciated, however I'm more focusing on the sheen over the wall .. below are some studies showing the different settings I've tried, i just can seem to get it right, i also tried adding a noise map over the reflection layer>Fresnel Color>M...this did nothing loll :

I fit helps I'm using the older version of vray..

This is the scene and as you can see the feature paint has no reflection layer

This is with a reflection layer added (fresnel>multi =1> IOR=1.55)
    Highlight Glossiness=1 Highlight Glossiness=1

This is with a reflection layer added (fresnel>multi =1> IOR=1.55)
    Highlight Glossiness=1 Highlight Glossiness=0.9

This is with a reflection layer added (fresnel>multi =1> IOR=1.55)
    Highlight Glossiness=0.9 Highlight Glossiness=0.9

This is with a reflection layer added (fresnel>multi =1> IOR=1.55)
    Highlight Glossiness=0.5 Highlight Glossiness=0.5

This is an image i found off google with a similar sheen im after...

In hindsight the best option is to have no reflection, but as you guys would know... its all bout the light and reflection! haha

Any advice would be greatly appreciated (p.s dont mind the terrible brown couch... :P)

your doing the right thing, i love version 1, you should try
HG .6 and RF.65 but then you have to increase the subdivsions alot to decrease the noise or you could try HG .8 and RG .85 and reducing the Fresnel IOR to maybe 1.2, that should do it try just playing with the fresnel ior and you will get it

      Hey Shawn.
Thanks for the help. I think i've almost got it at HG .8 RG .85 with the IOR at 1 & Anisotropy at 0.9.. however its still attracting noise, ive fiddled with the subdivs 8-16-32-100 but this isnt making much of a difference with the nosie. any further advice?

      Cheers

if your using IR and LC make sure your hemispheric subdivisions are high enough
