3ds max file to su export problem

hey,

I have following problem with exporting file from 3ds:

have made form in 3ds max
cant export it to the *.3DS file because it has too many faces
other files types are not used by SU
heres simple render of this structure

any1 have an idea how to solve it?

Maybe cut into quarters, and try exporting one quarter, turn it into a component and connect the quarters together. I am sure there is a better way than this.

I want to make in this way whole roof system which will be far bigger... there would be problem with such cutting

I would like to point out that if you are encountering an issue where max says you have too much geometry, SketchUp will probably not be able to handle that too well, and V-Ray for SketchUp will be really bogged down. There may be a different/better solution than this. Displacement water level might be helpful: http://software.asgvis.com/index.php...ues&Itemid=682
