  • IES lighting problem,,

    Dear users and experts,,

I have a problem with IES lights,
the problem is: the effect of the light on the vertical surface besides it (wall on coloumn for instance), is very sharp, plz see the link

how can I remove this boundary of light from the walls?

is it related to IES settings or the material settings? plz help

in the example above the following settings are used:
    1) IES: power was set to 250,000 for each light
    2) Reinhard color mapping with bright multiplier of 1

Very difficult to give you a precise answer with that image. Please send me the scene.

        Fernando,,
I think the problem is solved,, in the first scene I scaled the shape of the IES lights, I think that was the reason for having sharp boundary of light, in this last render I used 4 IES lights and 1 Omni light,

        Settings:
for IES: the power of each is set to 10000
Omni: power is 5000 (I think this one it is still very bright)

I'm glad you found a solution. In term of the ceiling light, I think the you could use 2 sided material for the lamp to create a translucency effect.

The illumination is better now, but looks kind of flat. I guess you can increase the multiplier of the IES light a little bit more. I know it is a WIP scene, but try to improve the wood and the sofa materials. Beside that, I think the render is going good.
