  • Material Contrast

I could use some help with providing the right contract between materials. The image shows a white base. I have aluminum door pulls, aluminum uprights. However, there seems to be very little (if any) contrast between the materials. I simply want white to look white, and the aluminum to look like aluminum.

If needed, I can provide the model, and visopt. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think you could use the physical camera white balance to improve the white color, also you need to override the reflection and the refraction on the environment in order to have variation on the reflection to produce more realism on the aluminum material. If you already have an HDRI on the reflection, you should find a better one.
    Please upload the model.

Thanks! I'll give the physical camera a try. What do you mean by "override the reflection"?

Usually you get reflection from the image (usually an hdri or a 360 panoramic image) that you place on the Environment Background option. In your scene you have a black background and I thought that you want to get that background effect. If you put an image on the Background option you will not get the black effect on your render. To get the variation on the reflections using an image, you have to place the image on the "Reflection" option in the Environment to override all the reflection on your scene. In this way you will have the black background and a different image to produce more reflection.
