  • Background image isn't showing in render

    Hello everyone,

I just started learning how to render, using a tutorial I found on Youtube. Everything worked fine, was working on it and saved the file to continue working on it today.
However everytime I try to render the image, the background isn't showing up through the glass. I can see it in Sketchup, but it doesn't show up in the render. It was working just fine yesterday and I haven't changed any settings since then as far as I can remember.

    Here's a link to the scene; http://www.2shared.com/file/LOzn10nn..._Vray__2_.html

    Thanks in advance.

    hey Insomnia

i'm no expert either on this but i took a look at the file and figured there is something wrong with the background image, if anything i would just delete and import the same image back into the model (i tried with a different image and it rendered fine) hope that helps
If you have no critics you'll likely have no success.

Thank you, that did the trick. Kinda weird though, worked just fine yesterday.

I have another small question, since you've seen the file; Do you know how to get rid of that "source light" that's reflecting in the window? I've tried turning the indoor rectangualar light to 'invisible' and switched off "Affect specular", but that didn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

      Thanks again!

        no problem
that depends what you want to achieve with that light.. it seems to be double sided so the light source is seen on both faces, if you uncheck the "double sided" check box in the light properties that should take care of the reflection being captured on the glass. thats the result below. hope that helps

By the way, the problem with my original question seems to have something to do with the emissive layer of the background image. For some reason Vray isn't rendering to background when I add a emissive layer to the background. It worked just fine yesterday, very weird.

Found the problem, for smoe reason I didn't save the bitmap in the emissive layer. It's working fine now.

yes, also it seemed me to be because of the emissive light (in background image)… is a question to try it with lower values

                Hi,,,,
                can I ask a question????
I downloaded your file a took a look at it,,,
how do you set the texture on the curved surface? (I mean the panorama image)
I tried to change it with another jpg and I found out that the new jpd where splitted into smaller pieces!!
can you help me with it?

                Kind regards

nimajali. projected image. right click the texture and use as projected image. then use the eye dropper tool and select the texture sample then apply the material to all the surface. (its a basic sketchup thing).
