Importing materials problem

Hi guys,

Just ran into another problem. Everytime I try to import a material (vismat) it shows the preview in the vray material editor like it's supposed to. However if I assign this material onto something in sketchup, it's either grey or black. If I click the render button it shows up the way it should, it just looks grey or black in sketchup and in the sketchup material editor. Any advice?

You need to find the texture in the vismat file and make sure it is applied in your sketchup material as well. Sometimes in the older vismats, the material is not shown in the 1st diffuse layer or is a blended material. You can use the alpha transparency trick here: http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...d-for-SketchUp if you don't want your map that shows up in SU to show in your render (for example a bumpmap)

Thank you, that did the trick. Seems to be a problem with certain (older) vismats like you said.
