  • VRayMtlWrapper visible in renders?

How can I make VRayMtlWrapper invisible in the final render. The car casts shadows on the plane below, but it is still visible in the render even though Matt Surface is turned on. Any hints?

If you checked the "Shadows" option then the "GI Amount option" is enabled and by default is set to 1.
Set that value to 0 (no gi Shadows contribution in the matte).

I was wondering the same thing...

I did a few tests with a scene I downloaded sometime ago in this forum, here are some results:

as you can see, to achieve the desired look I need from the Mtl_wrapper, the plane shows up as a grey line where it crosses the projection map from the camera...

I was playing with this scene a bit yesterday trying to figure out how to get the reflections/shadows/ to work with the background projection without showing up in my reflection.

If anyone knows the set up for this please share!

I take it back. It still does not render transparent even though the GI Amount slider is set to 0. Could this be a bug?

Have you connected the floor material in the "base material" in the VRayMtlWrapper?
And this sounds stupid but sometimes i forget to apply the VRayMtlWrapper to the plane after i create one :P
so i end up renderig the plane wondering, and then i remember...thaaa :P
