  • 2 very annoying bugs in Vray

Hi, just to submit 2 very annoying bugs :P

1- When i duplicate a shading network in the hypershade menu the hardware texture preview option in the material atribute options stops working (for that duplicated shader).
    ( Have to restart Maya)

2 Vray physical camera tab disapears in the camera atribute options
(disabling the history and then enabling it again solves this).

Does this work for any of the standard Maya materials (Lambert, Phong etc).

Can you get me more specific reproduction steps for this? Or is it a random thing?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Hi Vlado.

The shader issue happens with vray materials very frequently and with complex shader networks (several texture maps) i don´t think it happens with the maya standard shaders but i can´t be 100% sure.
Maybe it´s some kind of map slot (reflection, bump etc) that causes this.
Again this only hapens when i use the hypershade "edit\duplicate\shading network" and assign the duplicated shader to a mesh.

Sometimes i can´t set the hardware texture options at all, or i can only set the viewport resolution display.

The vray Physical issue is solved by setting the maya "Construction history" to off and on ( button to the left side of the render view button.)
This error happens from time to time. Before i learned about this solution i used to close the camera atribute editor, select any object in the scene and then go to the camera atribute editor again.
I think it is a refresh issue.

      thanks
