  • 3d Floor plan lighting issues (scene included)

    Hello all,

Lately I've been messing around with making for plans in SketchUp and (trying to) rendering them with Vray. However, I can't seem to get the kind of lighting I want.
What I want to achieve is something like this image:

    or even this:

I've tried using both the sun/sky and the GI. The sun gives me shadows which I do not want (and I'm not able to turn them off completely) the GI image is either way too dark or way too bright. I've read something about two sided materials but this requires extra lighting in the interior, which I do not want to setup because it's too time consuming. I'm looking to achieve an overall lighting without shadows just like the floor plan above if that's possible.

I made a simple (incomplete) scene:

I would really appreciate some good tips or maybe even a visopt if that's not too much to ask.

Thanks in advance and kind regards.

Thank you. Small problem though, I still get shadows eventhough I turned them "off" under global swtiches. Everything else is turned off as well as you suggested.

while back I made a video tutorial showing how to use SKPTwoSided material to hide the ceiling from the camera. I think this is what you are looking for.

Have you tried to increase the size of the GI? it is in the Environment menu, by increasing the sun size you will still have shadows but not as sharp as before.
