  • V-Ray 1.5 for Rhino Beta

    Hi,

Within the latest V-Ray 1.5 for Rhino Beta is there a way to render matte shadow? Or some similar feature?

No, that feature has not been added in this release as far as I know.

Has there been any comment on it for any other release? It is so useful, yet its not available for Rhino

We do plan on adding this feature in the future, but our plate was pretty full already with the features that we did add in this release. We understand that it is a very useful feature to have, and we look forward to adding it soon.

One other thing, there are a lot of new settings and roll out changes is there a guide anywhere? For example in the material editor now next to reflection colour there is a spinner for a value. Does this control the intensity of the colour value?

              Hello James-

Unfortunately, we do not have a new guide yet. We will keep you posted on this.

The spinner beside the reflection color controls the intensity of the reflection map and does not effect the intensity of the color.

              Best regards,
              Corey

In the previous version of VfR the "assign material to layer" pop up showed s the layers list with a check-list, this allowed to apply the same material to many layers at the same time. This is no longer possible in version 1.5, can you fix that? Thank you.

I have also noticed a small black square that appears at 0,0,0. I have no ground plane, jut rendering an object in floating space. If I move the objects and camera away from the centre origin the black square is gone. So its fixed at 0,0,0. Any ideas what this is?

I can't reproduce the issue. Can you send me the scene or the steps to reproduce the issue?
