  • Casa E.R. part 1

Hey there guys, i posting here to see if there are still any other guys from the old forum.
this is an image i made last night, it's the very first proposal of a facade for one of my clientes. actually this sceene would be impossible, because there's another house infront, facing to the street. I guess we could say the lot of this project is in the backyard of another house. The first plan already exists, what i'm doing here is adding new bedrooms, livingrooms and a gym.
Hope you guys like it, it's still a proposal and it's probably not going to be the last one, but as always, your comments are welcome.

Looks nice Omar! One quick tweak I would suggest is using a Texdirt on the stucco.

lol, nice for posting here, ok firstly it seems like a simple modelling job so i cant comment on that but the walls need some bump it seems abit flat even with the stains you added, the image itself is really sharp, too much imho, i can see it on the window orange outline, the background is kinda depicting a sun going down type of scene but i dont think the plant to the left would be so much darker than the rest, you could add some curtains in the windows for a more lived in feeling, the trees in the courtyard are maybe too saturated. nice work none the less, keep posting here my friend!

hell yeah, back to work then!
        Hey Skurl, what´s up?
hahaha, you know, i used to hate when my friends used to tell me what to do with my renders, but daaamn, it's competely necesary, i have been completely stuck since the forum changed...
yes, this is not i final render, but i did try to make it as realistic as possible. I always do. There are some images that come great, and when you think that you are finally getting better, you have this kind of images... the sceene did not help, neither the simplicity of the design, but it is all part of the "cheap" concept. I do think i need to do something with those walls, that will actually never be seen because of the building next to it. I tried adding texdirt, but i didn´t understand it. I remember one of fernando´s tutorials, when he was introducing us into versions 1.48... i know he talked about that, but i could not find it. can anybody please point me into it?... or into any document that would explain me how to use texdirt?
        thank you for your time

          Hey Omar,
I did some testing with the dirt materials recently, I thought I'd share with you an example. See if that helps you. I rendered two areas with the dirt layer on compared to the section in the middle and the top with no dirt. Here's the sketchup file too http://www.mediafire.com/?168b5p9rmn16caj

Yeah, it seems like there was more to learn about when more people were posting. It's a shame things have died down so much. Well, we do what we can

          Best,

          Andy

            hey whatps up andy.
it does not look like dirt hehe, it seems to be just a little bit darker.
i'm gonna make my own tests too, and i will let you know if i find out anything interesting.
back to the issue of the large simple surfaces, i've noticed in some posts of evermotion's forum that some guys use some sort of micro bump map, does anybody have a trick or something? i imean, to improve the large wall surfaces in the render of this topic.

The render looks good, but I think that the corners are too sharp. For me very sharp corner reduce the realism of the render.

Hey Omar, That's what it looks like - you can use a noise map or texture if you want to to be grainy, I just have a color so that it is darker in the corners. It gives it a sort of AO effect.
