I have a very simple model I am trying to render. It is a jpeg of a site plan, on top of it I have constructed some block buildings with a balsa wood texture. I have added some stock sketchup "face-me" trees. When I render everything looks fine, except the face-me trees. I see a light gray rectangle at the corners (where the transparency should be) and the shows to the trees are not the same size and angle as seen in sketchup.

No, I can see the jpeg with the site plan drawn on it sitting on the ground. I can see the images of the face-me trees (leaves and branches, etc). My problem is that on the face-me trees the transparent portions of the png iles are not transparent. They are a light gray and block out parts of the scene behind.

Getting there. The transparency issue was just a matter checking the 'text for transparency box. I had way too many materials and had to purge to track it down. The final issue is the shape of the shadows from the face me trees. Vray treats them as they really are, a flat surface. Is there a way to get shadows closer to the sketchup view? I'll post the two images.
