  • Phoenix 2.0 Maya BETA Error: Could not obtain simulation license.

    Hi,

    I just installed the Phoenix Maya Beta and build the scene like in the video tutorial.
    When I hit the sim button noting happens and in the script editor this msg shows up:

    // PhoenixFD: Simulation output will be saved to 'C:\Users\Rico\Documents\maya\projects\default\dat a\untitled_Phoenix2_frames\@transform1@PhoenixFDSi mulator1'. //
    currentTime 1 ;
    // Error: Could not obtain simulation license. //
    // Simulation stopped. //

    How do I get a licence?

    cheers

    Rico

    You will need to update your dongle with a beta license - the process is pretty much the same as for adding a V-Ray license - you just need to send us the .wbc file from your license server.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Okay

      Sorry ... I can't find a .wbc file on my system.

      More help would be very nice.

      Thanks

          I don't suppose you could say which document/page this is, I'm trying to find it as well now.

              Apologies, for some reason I cannot edit my posts in this part of the forum/thread (?).

              I'm trying to run the getstatus wizard but it's not working for me at all.
              I'm using google chrome, and it says that javascript is enabled.

                i think you can export the wbc file via the WkConfig tool too. worked on my mac, pretty sure you can do it with a pc too.

                  Hey Bard,

                  I'm not seeing a WkConfig tool in my directories unfortunately.

                    Sorted now.
                    And if anyone else has a similar issue, definitely follow this:

                    try following:
                    - Start the license server and make sure that the black VL icon appears on the notification area of your Windows task bar.
                    - Disable completely your Windows firewall and any antivirus software that you might have
                    - On the same PC open the status web page of the license server: http://localhost:30304/getstatus
                    - if you still can't open the license server status web page please send us an email to support@chaosgroup.com with regards to this threads and we will work from there

                      Hi guys,
                      I'm trying to make phxfd run, but I get // Error: Could not obtain simulation license. // I got my license, installed it , can see it on the server (its valid till end of June) but still simulation doesn't run.. Server is shared over internet but I'm running vray on same pc and it works.
                      Any ideas ? thanks,
                      Jakub
