    Hi Rebin

One of the key things about materials with reflection, is they need to have something to reflect.
So for instance, if its glass, then there needs to be something to reflect in the glass - an image or another part of the model.

If this isn't the problem, then I suggest you post an image so we can see whats going on.

I think David is right. Try putting something like a 2D tree in front of the cube (not behind like you show).

            Hi Rebin

Mmm - your scene is very devoid of features, so its really difficult to show the effect of any reflections.

Tips: - never use a totally black (0:0:0) material for your test - its like soot and doesn't bounce light.
If you are experimenting, then use a sphere for your example - it should reflect like mad!
Put an image or two around the scene, so it will be obvious when it is reflected. If you want a reflective cube then you wil need a sky (and clouds) so the reflections have something to work with.
To start with, I would ensure that the colour in the 'reflection' box is not black. black indicates no reflection, white indicates maximum reflection. (Your example above looks black) - unless of course you have a 'fresnel' material, but that another story!

            something like this http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6...ritest2ox7.jpg

Ditto what everyone else said. Also you could place an hdri map in the background slot of the environment rollout. That way your reflective cube will have something to reflect

hey rebin, you need to do a studio setup to do what u want to do, meaning there needs to also be a floor, rgt now your object is just floating in space my friend. put it on a floor. look for studio setups and then u will get the real drift
