  • v-ray material_why do vray make a duplicate from my material?

    hi
i have a problem with my v-ray material.
i creat a new material with for example a reflection layer and save it.
but sometimes when i want to use the material again in the same data file, v-ray or skp make a duplicate without my reflection layer.
    where is my mitake?

thanx so much for your help

VfSU does that, it is one bug that I am experiencing too but I don't find it too problematic for me atm. Here's what I did or what I believe I did to have made VfSU duplicate the material w/o any vray attributes.
    1. If I open skp file more than 1, some materials will lose the vray attribute on 1 or the other files. Keep in mind that VfSU is still unstable atm and opening few sketchup instances will cause some vray materials to lose their attributes (layers).
    2. If I change the name of material in use. If I want to change a blue emissive to a green emissive and likewise, I'd change the name "blue emissive" into "green emissive1" and then "green emissive" into "blue emissive 1". After the names were set, I change back both of them by removing "1". When I do that, the material duplicates and they can't be removed from either sketchup material list or vray material editor.

Just some issues I have right now.

I also noticed that this error happens more often when I have BOTH V-Ray Material Editor and SketchUp Texture windows open at the same time. Typically, if I'm editing textures in the SketchUp Texture window, I make sure that the V-Ray Material Editor is closed and vice-versa.
      I am currently using V-Ray 1.49.01.
