  • Displacement mapping ???

    Hi everybody,

First, I apologize if this question has been asked on the forum, I did my research but I can not find what I want, and in addition I speak badly English.

My Problem : I want to know how can i adjust my texture when i have no texture. The only one texture i have is the displacement. My diffuse textuse is a color. Here my texture is a roof zinc :

you can download the texture here

here is the image that was with the vismat texture file :

And this is my test render : i work in meters but its same when i turn my unit on Feet. How can i adjust my texture ? Please.

    Here is my render :

    Thank You.

You need an so called "ghost diffuse layer", who has some texture applied, but transparent, because you don't want it to be visible in the rendering.
So, start from scratch, make a material, apply the texture that you want for your displacement, scale your texture to fit your needs, then click the "m" near transparency and assign texAcolor and choose white.
Doing so, your material/texture it will still be visible in the su viewport, but invisible( transparent). Make another diffuse layer . Choose a color that you want. This diffuse layer will be rendered. Apply the displacement, and you're ready.
