  • Effected by Override material in 1.49.02

    Hi guys,

In version 1.49.01 I could exclude materials from the override material option in the material editor.

How do you do it in version 1.49.02? that option is gone there....

    thanks

NO. We don't have a beta version with that name. Our latest beta version is the same as the released version 1.49.01. If you find a version with that name it is not the official release. So don't use it. We are working in a new version of V-Ray for SU and the name is not even 1.49....
So we stop using the number 1.49... on the build 1.49.01.
Anyway, You can find the option on the material editor on the "option" area. The name of the parameter is called "Can be overridden"

That is really weird: I've seen vray version 1.49.02 on computers and I remember seeing that version for download for beta testers.

The reason I ask this, is because students with version 1.49.02 asked me where to un check the "effected by..." since they don't have it where the 1.49.01 users do.

you are telling me you never ever released a 1.49.02 version for Beta? that is really weird.

Like I ask before - do you know where this version was acquired. Was it from a warez site perhaps? There is definitely no official version other than 1.49.01 that's been released in more than a year.

I don't know where they got it from but in SketchUp, when I went to:
                Window-preferences-applications-vray
I saw the number of the version.

I remember seeing it too on the official site.

well if you want to know my thoughts - it's probably a cracked older version that's been repackaged to look like a new version (with lord only knows what kind of backdoor trojans/ viruses included) That would be why it doesn't have all the features and checkboxes of the current version.

Well maybe that is a version that someone created out there and make it look like the newest update of 1.49.02, which is not the official from Chaos Group. Just be careful, and try to look forward to this community forum for the official release.
