Vray demo not working with Max 2013?

I have installed, uninstalled, installed again and again but cannot get the demo (vray_demo_23001_max2011_x64) to work with Max 2013. The release notes say that it works in 2013, but I get nothing but errors when Max starts.


The procedure entry point $setName @ bitmapinfo....... could not be located in the dynamic link library bmm.dll

vrender2012.dlr failed to initialize. Error code 127 - The specified procedure could not be found,

I'm really trying to justify to my company the purchase of Vray, but I need to render some examples with the demo to do that.

There is no demo for 3ds Max 2013 on our web site. However if you email us to vray@chaosgroup.com our support guys can arrange a full evaluation version.

Well, I got the full eval and am still having the exact same errors. It says in the release notes that it supports 2013. Is that not the case? Do I have to roll back to 2012 in order to use this?

If the errors still mention vrender2012.dlr etc, then you are running the wrong installer. You need to download and run the installer for 3ds Max 2013 specifically. The build for 3ds Max 2012 will not work in 3ds Max 2013.

BUMP... I have 3ds Max 2013 and I also purchased vray2.0 but I can not get it run w/o a problem. No other plugins installed expec built in one.

The answer is still the same: you are trying to install the version for 3ds Max 2012. You should download and run the correct installer for 3ds Max 2013.

The builds are sorted by upload date, and the max 2013 build was uploaded a bit later than the rest... sorry about that.

I cant track the "right installer for 3ds Max 2013" since it has not been mentionned during your conversation Guys ::

I have the same issue, below i see name such as "max 90 , max 80" and the content change depend of the number of bits choosen. I choose 32.
what is its exact name please ? I want know that this it ..

There is no demo for 3ds Max 2013; the conversation above concerns the full commercial builds. A demo for 3ds Max 2013 will be available after the release of 3ds Max 2014.
