  • 3ds max and version of vray that works best on a 4 core 4 gig ram computer

older max will be better for your older system. But I will still get the latest VRay for it (just make sure your max is not so old that the new vray is not available for it.

You wont be able to buy an old max anyways, only the latest

But seriously, if you can afford max and vray, then a new pc is like small pocket change compared to the rest
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

actually being able to render with dynamic memory has really saved my renders, renders are now coming in at very good times and with all the new features vray has implemented render times are even faster and faster. i do not use brute force so i can greatly deal with render times. more ram is the way to go though but i would suggest to another person with less ram to use dynamic memory when rendering
