  • White Balance renderes black when using darker colors

Yesterday I was rendering a model and clicked the Clear Image button and clicked Yes to "Are you sure you want to clear ALL channels data?". Since then when I change the white balance in the Camera settings to a darker color, Vray renders a black screen.

The model doesn't have any assigned lighting, everything is default, including the Vray settings.
I even uninstalled then reinstalled Vray and still the same issue. This was not an issue before I clicked the Clear Image button, and that was the first time I clicked it.

    Please help.

    Thanks in advance.

(using Vray for Sketchup 6 on Setchup 7)

    Hi,

Do you get this black screen render only when you use "White balance" color with "Saturation" value "255".
Can you try to lower this value to "200" for an example.

The saturation value was at 240 when it renders black, but lowering the saturation worked!

I don't understand why the saturation value became an issue, because it wasn't before. I don't recall having changed any of the settings. Do you know why?

Thanks a lot for your help.

        Hi,

It's normal behavior of this option and increasing the color saturation will always produce darker image.
Is there any reason to use so dark colors for white balance?
