1. Is it still valid command in recent VRay version 2.xx?
I usually turn on caustic preview (show calculation process as in another GI method of V-Ray) by the trick (maxscript) ---> F11, and copy+paste renderers.current.caustics_showCalcPhase=true into it and enter.
And it always works well, in half of years or more I don't really render any caustics. But recently, when I try it again it doesn't work as supposed. Render always back/empty in caustic calculating pass, I've test in the other PC with same Vray 2.00.02 version, still doesn't work either. But yet another PC with VRay 1.5 SP4a, it works very well.
Is it my own problem regarding some mistakes or incorrect setting here/there in vray configuration or it's not valid anymore in Vray newer version?
And just wondering... why wasn't it implemented in UI as a checkbox with label "show calc. preview" like every other stuff in VRay GI tab (lightcache/IRRmap/etc...)? The caustics preview doesn't have anything need to hide from user by default... does it?
2. VRayBPTracer helper crash/freeze 3ds Max.
Few days lately, I've same problem in 2 PC use Vray 2.00.02 (V-Ray x64 for max 2009 x64 edition). That whenever I put a VRayBPTracer helper in scene and hit render (F9 or Shift+Q) the max crash immediately or freeze the rendering process dialogue window (end up restart max 'coz even close the scene, it still there, reset it still there..).
So what's most encounted problem with VRayBPTracer in max 64bit/32bit? Again, I've to ensure that crash every time, regardless how simplistic the scene is... even I open new max windows and just put there a teapot, then put VRayBPTracer it freeze/or crash. I remember few months ago, I've use the bidirection path tracing method without any problem. I move to the PC installed 1.5 SP4a (mentioned above) in order to test just to realise it's not even there, the helper just implemented since Vray 2.0 as I recall... ANyone can give suggestion, thanks so much...
Thanks for reading.
