  • Stuck on prepass

Hello! I've downloaded V-Ray demo for 3ds Max 2013 for 32 bit system. The problem is that when I try to render my scene it gets stuck on prepass 1. It doesn't freeze, it seems as its working and the time is counting in the render window but nothing really happens. I tried it on the different computer and it worked there.

Any common reasons for this problem to happen? Thanks in advance.

Whats the spec of the computer it worked on vs the one it isnt working on?

On the one it doesnt work on, maybe try a lower preset for ir map, like maybe "very low"

If you have Max 2013, then you probably have a new(ish) pc with more than 4GB Ram. Try the 64 bit version of max/vray maybe?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

The specs of the computer where it doesn't work are Intel i5 760(quad core), Radeon 6850, and only 4GB RAM on Windows 7 32 bit.

The specs of the computer where it works are as follows: i7-3630QM, Radeon HD7670N, 12GB RAM on Windows 7 64 bit.

The model I'm working on is very complex. I suppose RAM upgrade is a must-do. However, do you think that the upgrade to 64 bit Windows is also necessary.

      Thanks for the help

        Heya

For anything above 4gb of ram you need windows 7 PRO x64 version if I'm not wrong. Not sure if the Home/basic dont limit ram to 8gb or so.
