  • Light Properties Problem

I've run into a problem where when I select a light created via VRay's tools (ex: dome light), the options under Properties --> Light remain the default Color/Intensity/Shadow Intensity, rather than the detailed menu that should appear for VRay objects.

I found a few topics since 2009 with this same issue but no one seemed to be able to provide a solution. Please refer to my attached screenshot.

Looks like you haven't Vray right installed or it isn't selected as current render engine - at your menu is no Vray entry.

No, I have seen the same problem intermittently. The vray toolbar wouldn't be visible if vray was'nt loaded. Usually the light has to be deleted and recreated. Bmpietras, before you try this could you please submit a bug report? I keep forgetting to.

But if Vray is not the active render engine, than the light vray properties are not visible. It's here the same. The Vray toolbar isn't dependent from the current set render engine. So, the screenshot shows a normal state.

Micha is right,if vray was the current render engine, the decal icon would not appear on the property tab.And vray is not visible on the menu list at the top.

Yes, i see. I do get the bug I mentioned with some frequency, and Vray is set as active render engine, but you're right here for sure.
