  • Problem With rectangular light effect on renderings

So im new to the Vray engine as I was using Next limit Maxwell before and it is nothing compared to vray...... this is so overwhelming.
I have been following the tutorials on the website and there is so much information that its hard as a beginner to put the pieces back together.
I working on interiors, and im trying to figure something regarding the effects of the rectangular light.
I am trying to reproduce the following image that was in a tutorial with rectangular lighting : http://s23.postimg.org/z0p76a2m3/vra...alog_box_3.jpg

So what im trying to achieve is the beacon of light at the bottom left. But when I end up having with the rectangular light is the following : http://s21.postimg.org/fygugjk5z/test.jpg

What am I doing wrong? I have tried LUmes scalar and all the others but I don't think it defers as this is just for intensity and how it is calculated right?
THe effect I need is not a diffused light but rather something with detailed beams and shadows like these two photos :

oh and why is my picture so grainy? it says to eliminate grain, adjust the brightness? of the GI? I don't know what they mean by brightness is it the color black to white?

I think you have to use the sun for these light beams. You can keep your rectangular light, but make it invisible so the sunlight can go through.
FYI, the VraySun orientation is exactly the same as sketchup's default sun, so just give it the right angle in sketchup and vray will do the rest.

thanks man. I still haven't gotten to the sun tutorial then but I just thought the GI was the sun reproduction as a general illumination. gosh its so confusing. but thanks I guess that is it because I was wondering why the shadows and light weren't following the actual shadowing and sun of sketchup.

          Hi Serjdaher,
you can turn off your SUN light from VRay Option . . . .

          only use VRay Rectangular light . . . . . i thinks its work . . . . .
