    thanks.
I have suddenly a problem with the displacement. I cannot figure out what happens.

here is a quick new test. Thanks for the nightlies build hint, displacement is now working.
Only 9M cells in this test.

i think it needs only resolution, and allow the foam to leave the grid (outside life)

Well, I think all goes to fast. I need to get the feeling of the different scalings. This would be a big Yacht (90meters), when I see this I have much more a feeling of a small or midsize boat. I think I have to cheat on the yacht size, make movement slower. A little more resolution and as you said let the foam leave the grid would make it.
I'm rendering a test with shaded water on this one, just again to get the feeling of it. Next time I'll try to get a more consistent result.

btw. this time I animated the grid to follow the boat. I tried also to use the "simulation" -> "load current" feature. It loads the current simulated frame but doesn't seem to take the foam and splash into account. So finally, we have to wait again for nearly 100frames to get a good foam pattern. Shouldn't it start with the foam and splash from the current frame ? Is this possible ?

              best regards,

              Olivier

this is the quick test with shaded water. I know water is too clear
Don't ask why it's blurry, that comes from vimeo, will check this.

I made a much longer simulation over the week-end. I'm still on build from Feb17. After loading the scene, I see ocean, foam and splash in viewport, but impossible to render ocean (in grid or outside grid). I tried to switch several times shader attachement, but nothing helps. I tried to render with latest nightly, it renders ocean inside grid at has still the displacement bug. Is there any other build I could use to see what I simulated over the week-end (1360 frames!) ?

hmm... it's again the infinite ocean that bugs. When I untick it renders the grid.

                        Hi,

New test. I didn't render out the full simulation. I'm quite surprised that there is not much foam behind the ship. I need to test more the different parameters but it's quite long and I don't have much time

btw seeing the break downs for some very experienced people, they use velocity/vorticity to make the water white. i should make some experiments....
phoenix is able to export the vorticity, it's a hidden option. there is a parameter called "zmr" , when you set value 7 in it, the vorticity is exported into the smoke channel
