  • Beach wave problems

    Hi all,
I'm Dimitar Nenov from Red Vertex. I'm testing Phoenix FD the last couple of days. I'm trying to make a wave that spreads on the beach and then draws back. The problem is that when the water should draws back It leaves some kind of stepping behind it. I'm attaching a video to see what the problem is exactly. May be I need to add some cooling to the dynamics as I'm using the temperature channel. But I still didn't have time to test it. It will be great if someone have the same problem or can give me an advice how to solve this.

Here are the settings that I'm using.

    Hi,
the reason for the steps is the object voxels option, you are using circumscribed, it should be inscribed. The steps will exist whatever you make, but when you use inscribed voxels they appear inside the geometry and are not visible.
And more recommendations: switch off strong surface mode (it's good for oily liquids only), enable static surface correction, and use sharpness 0.5 or above.
To simulate a beach is relatively hard, i have seen only few good simulations and all of them are over rocks.

      Thanks for the advices, Ivaylo.
Changing the voxels to inscribed partly solved the problem and It's looking much better now. I hope to I will be able to show the final result.
